What permissions do I need in order to put containers on my land in Illinois?+
The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall governs above-ground storage tanks, for both flammable and non-flammable liquids. Illinois does not have an approved state program. The office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Petroleum and Chemical Safety Division administers UST regulations.
