Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes do your tanks and containers / boxes come in?
We have 21,000 gallon and 8,400 gallon closed top tanks, 18,000 gallon open top tanks, 18,000 gallon double wall tanks, 25 cubic yard vacuum boxes and 25 cubic yard dewatering boxes.

Do your tanks have interior bracing?
No, all of our tanks are rodless, which makes them easier to clean out at the end of the project.

What sizes are the inlet and outlet on your tanks?
Our 21K tanks are equipped with 4" butterfly valves on the bottom of the front and back of the tanks, we also have a third 4" valve on the front of the tank about 2' off the ground to allow for decanting fluids. These valves are all 4" female NPTF. There is also a 3" male NPTF fill pipe in the front, which leads to the top of the tank. The 8.4K tanks have the same inlet and outlets except the front valves are at floor level. The double wall tank has only one 4" butterfly valve in the front.

I have rented some tanks in the past where the access hatches were on the top of the tank and we had to lift heavy buckets of sediment out of the tank. Do your tanks have an easier way for us to remove the heavy mud and sludge that remains after the tank is emptied?
Yes, our 21K, 8.4K and 18K open top tanks are all equipped with side clean-out hatches that enable you to shovel or vacuum out the remaining sediment left after a tank is drained. In fact, these tanks all have at least 3 man ways on them, one in the front at chest level, one on the passenger side at floor level and one on the top to view the product. The open top tank has three side hatches.

Do we have to clean the tanks at the end of the job?
Yes, we deliver the tanks to your site clean and empty, and we expect to pick them up the same way. We have designed our tanks to be easier to clean so your cleaning costs will be greatly reduced.

Do you sell your tanks or do you just strictly rent them?
We are a rental company and would prefer to rent the tanks to you. If your project is a lengthy one, we will work out a reasonable rate to help make your project more profitable.

I don’t want to get any rust or scale in the liquid we are storing; do you have epoxy-coated tanks?
Yes, the majority of tanks we have in our fleet are epoxy-coated.

Can I store acid or caustic in the epoxy-coated tank?
We would prefer if the PH on the liquid stored in our tanks is between 5 – 9. This would eliminate most acids and caustics, which would harm the coating and the tank.

Do you have any tanks with baffles?
Yes, our open top tanks with over/under weirs helps to separate sediment from water or oil from water. These tanks feature a catwalk that runs the full length of the tank to allow for full inspection of the separation process. Also, the three side hatches makes this tank an easy tank to clean.

How quickly can I get a portable storage container delivered?
Delivery is typically within one (1) to two (2) business(s) day from receipt of order.

What are the up-front costs to receive a portable storage container?
We collect delivery charge; first month’s rent and in some cases the return delivery charge in the initial invoice.

How much space is required for delivery?
Containers are delivered on a tilt bed truck. The driver tilts the bed up, and the container touches the ground. The driver then drives out from under the container. The delivery site needs to allow for 14’ of overhead clearance to accommodate the container on top of the tilt bed trailer. To get out from under the container the driver needs at least the length of the container and the tilt bed truck, in a straight line. This can be up to 120 feet with a 40’ container. The loaded tilt bed truck requires 12-foot wide clearance.

When we arrange delivery of your container, we will ask you what direction the cargo or other doors should face on your site so that we may load it accordingly onto our tilt bed truck.

What preparations will I need to make to my site prior to receiving my portable storage container?
Containers are suitable to be placed directly on the ground as long as there is sufficient drainage and the site is level. If a container is not level, the doors will be difficult to operate. If your desired location is not level, we can provide a few wooden blocks and the driver will attempt to make the unit as level as possible.

What if I want to have my portable storage container moved after the initial installation?
Whether on site, or between cities, we will arrange for relocation of your portable storage container. Please contact your local Adler Portable Storage office at (866) 459-7600 to make arrangements.

Is a permit required to place a portable storage container on your property?
Each city and county have their own regulations on the placement and use of containers in their jurisdictional areas. If you are uncertain about these requirements it is recommended that you contact your local municipal authority for information. From experience, most cities and counties do not require a permit. It is the customer’s responsibility to investigate and arrange for any required permits or fees associated with the placement of the container.
